The stories behind mathematical discoveries are fascinating. Incorporating them into mathematics teaching sparks students interest and motivation.
This course, aligned with the Common Core Standards for Mathematics, is designed to help teachers of grades 3-12 show the human dimension of mathematics while teaching critical thinking, pattern recognition, and a variety of problem-solving techniques. Texts include classroom ready activities as well as easily accessible biographical information. This course may be completed with or without students. Texts also used for Mat 913.
