LIT 905 Folktales from Around the World

Terrific array of folktales. The shortness and simplicity of the tales allowed us time to work on key areas and skills. – 4th Grade Teacher, WI

This course is designed to introduce K-8 teachers to folk literature from many cultures. The provided texts offer a delightful collection of largely unfamiliar tales, promising a fresh and exciting reading experience. Using these folk tales should enrich the teaching of reading, including comprehension, vocabulary, and listening skills. The tales also provide a natural link to the study of culture, geography, and values. Ideal for ESL learners of all ages, this course fulfills the Common Core Standards in Language Arts and may be completed with or without students.
